In the 1970s, The Boulders was a unique apartment complex that brought modern amenities and affordable luxury to southwest Provo. As time passed, the property lost its appeal and became known for mismanagement, crime, and its rundown appearance.
Reliant Group, a development company based in San Francisco, recently decided to buy The Boulders and renovate each unit for $55,000. Their commitment to the southwest Provo community has been praised by local residents, businesses, and organizations.
“This is a great, great improvement to the community,” Michael Merz, South Franklin Neighborhood Chairman, said in a recent interview. “It will upgrade the environment and resolve many issues. I’m happy for the residents.”
Reliant Group will be partnering with the Utah Housing Authority for additional funding and guidance during construction. Their project will be the first series of major renovations since IDG Horizon improved the property in 2000.
